Professional History and Impact
(2005-2020)
Locations: North Carolina (RDU, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Cary, Hillsborough), Virginia (Hampton Roads, all 7 cities)
During this time, I served as a virtual camp instructor, ESL Test coordinator, babysitter, and inclusion camp assistant coordinator.
Through my diverse experience, I developed a well- rounded, hands on approach that seamlessly blends structure, creativity, and genuine care.
Along the way, I recognized that both my professional roles and my babysitting side business was meeting a need traditional childcare often overlooked- bridging meaningful gaps for families while creating opportunities to make a lasting impact on children, families, and the community as whole. From that realization, my babysitting business was born.
I began working closely with families, hosting community- centered events, giving back and expanding my vision with intention and heart. However, as economic shifts impacted many of the families I served, the demands of the business began to take a toll. I made the intentional decision to step back, return to school, explore alternative career paths, and ultimately refine and elevate my vision- preparing for a stronger, more purposeful return.
My educational journey reflects a dynamic and intentional commitment to excellence, growth, and lifelong learning. I have attended a 4 year university, 2 community colleges, and 2 trade and technical institutions. Complemented by extensive professional development through trainings, conferences, and specialized coursework. My degrees create a unique, well rounded foundation that blends care, precision and entrepreneurship as they are in early childhood education, dental assisting, and business administration.
I have further enriched my expertise through learning experiences and resources provided by esteemed organizations such as The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Conscious Discipline, the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, Norfolk State University, The Planning Council, Google, Preschool Autism Summit, and the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights, among others. This diverse exposure allows me to bring a thoughtful, informed, and elevated approach to every service I provide, rooted in both passion and professionalism.
During this time, I discovered my genuine passion for working with children and committed myself to the field of early childhood education. I pursued formal education while actively building my experience, steadily working my way up, and refining my skills in a variety of roles.
My journey includes serving as a babysitter, volunteer, afterschool group leader, teacher assistant, substitute teacher, front desk staff, floater, kitchen aide, toddler teacher, summer camp coordinator, STEM instructor, and afterschool manager.
Each position allowed me to grow personally and professionally, strengthening my ability to create engaging, nurturing, and developmentally enriching environments for children.
